The virtuoso Plevost, who hails from Lille near Belgium and is well known for his exploration of French secrets on labels such as Integral and Continuo, and the acclaimed Belgian pianist Reyes, whose albums include Godard (GP683, GP684), Tansman (8.572266, 8.573021), Bakri (8.572530), and many others. Belgian pianist Reyes is highly acclaimed for his albums. These two artists, both adept at shedding light on unknown works, have teamed up to produce an album of French and Belgian works. While Dandy's sonatas are performed in their own right, the Andante written as a young man, a small piece by French organist Bonal, and a sonata by Belgian composer Dupuis are largely unknown. All of these works are full of lyrical melody lines and full of song, and the two performers' supple and graceful performances fully enhance the charms of the pieces. Naxos Japan
