This is a masterpiece by Albert King, one of the three great kings of the blues, along with B.B. and Freddie, released on Stax, the famous Southern Soul label, in 1967. Backed by Booker T. & the MGs and the Memphis Horns, the album exploded with his signature riffs and phrases, and combined with his smoky vocals, it was a modern blues masterpiece. This work had a great influence not only on the blues world but also on the rock world, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, for example, would not have emerged as a star without Albert's presence.
