Description:

Kimiko Higuchi, a microcosm of 30, has finally released the complete works of Bach's "Inventions and Sinfonias," having received high acclaim for her excellent CDs of Chopin, Liszt, and Debussy. She has finally released the complete works of Bach's "Inventions and Sinfonias," a release that shows her determination to reach her full potential. She has played Bach since she was a child and has often featured the complete "Partitas" and other works in her concerts, and she has also judged the Japan Bach Competition and given successful lectures on Bach and other subjects. She was very cautious about leaving such recordings. This can be said to be an expression of her sense of responsibility, as she has been active in Berlin for more than 30 years. In Germany, she learned everything about playing Bach on the piano as a disciple of Walter Blankenheim, the founder of the Würzburg International Bach Competition, and has been involved in the education of many church musicians and organists as a piano teacher at the Berlin Church Music University. In this sense, the German Bach tradition has become her flesh and blood.Young pianists who have taken her courses have been enthusiastic about her playing and the certainty of her points of view, even if they did not know such things. Now we can hear her play "Inventions and Sinfonias" on this CD. This collection was compiled by Bach for the education of his sons, and at the same time, it contains all of Bach as a composer, performer, and educator. In Kimiko Higuchi's performance, above all, there is a natural song and a natural ornamentation method that accompanies the flow of the music. This allows the structure of each piece to become clear in a natural way. Bach's own "correct guidance" is realized in a natural way. Needless to say, it takes a long training as a performer, both technically and mentally, to reach this state. We can then surrender ourselves to Bach's music with her and enjoy it with all our hearts.Kimiko Higuchi plays Bach Ryuichi Higuchi (Musicologist, Conductor) Universal Music/IMS
