Description:

This is a piece titled "Metamorphoses". The boundary between Hungary and Austria has been blurred for centuries. Many pieces of music have emerged from this narrow space. Haydn, Ligeti, and Brahms were particularly influenced by Hungary, and their styles changed from time to time. Haydn's works show a variety of expressions, Ligeti's works are transformed just like their titles, and Brahms's works are arranged for string quartet from solo piano pieces by the members of the quartet, so you will hear different "transformations" in each of them. Performed by the Amsterdam-based Dudok Quartet, recorded in 2014. (C)RS
