Full recording of Paul's first show in Fort Worth, his first time in the U.S. in 10 years since the Beatles, and his first U.S. show with Wings! Paul McCartney's first show in the U.S. since the Beatles' tour in 1966 with Wings Over the World Tour, recorded live at the Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas, on May 3, 1976. The tour began in their hometown of Southampton, England, and continued through September through England, Wales, Scotland, and the Australian leg in November, followed by a few shows in Europe at the beginning of the year in March, before hitting the U.S. and touring North America from May to June. This Fort Worth show was the first show in North America and the first show in the U.S. in 10 years, so the excitement of the audience could be directly felt. Two months prior to this show, their new album "Wings at the Speed of Sound" had just been released in March.Paul's solo albums had all sold well in the U.K. and the U.S., and it is evident that they were eagerly awaited in the U.S., where live performances were not readily available. The tour was well received by the press and the performances were excellent. The performance was well balanced, with songs mainly from "Venus and Mars" (1975), Beatles numbers in the middle part of the set, and songs from the new album in the latter half. For an encore, the band performed a newly arranged version of "Soily," an early song for which no studio recording had been released. The live album "Wings Over America" was released early in October of that year, but it did not include this Fort Worth performance, so this is a must have for Paul's fans.
