All of Teruyuki Noda's Japanese music works on this CD were written in the 20th century, and the three quartets are the core of Noda's masterpieces here. The three quartets are Noda's masterpieces, and although they are Japanese instruments, they do not sound like Japanese instruments. On the other hand, although the pieces are written in classical notation, you do not feel that they are written in classical notation. Beyond the common stereotypes of Japanese instruments and classical music, you can experience a unique worldview where the idea of the piece and the idea of the instrument are united at a high level.
