In 1974, he had the #2 R&B hit "Party Down" and was also responsible for the guitar riff in Betty Wright's "Clean Up Woman," a breakbeat classic. He has been active as a bassist/guitarist since his early teens, and after playing in a group called The Rockettes, he released his memorable solo debut album on T.K., released in 1972.
