The Greatest R&B Singer = Luther Vandross Best album "Never Too Much: Greatest Hits" is released to coincide with the release of the documentary film In addition to his career-spanning songs, the album includes a cover of The Beatles' "Michelle" and other unreleased songs. Luther: Never Too Much," a documentary film about R&B singer Luther Vandross, who passed away in 2005 at the age of 54 (director: Dawn Porter, music director: Robert Glasper), will be released in the United States in November (release in Japan is undecided). The film traces the 40-year career of Mariah Carey, Roberta Flack, Jamie Foxx, Richard Marx, Dionne Warwick, Marcus Miller, and many of their colleagues and influences, using testimonies and extensive archives to reveal the behind-the-scenes and unknown aspects of their creative process. The film also provides a glimpse behind the scenes and into the true face of Luther's creative process. In conjunction with the release of the film, Luther's latest greatest hits album "Never Too Much: Greatest Hits" was released.In addition to studio versions of the songs used in the documentary, the album also includes four previously unreleased songs, including a cover of the Beatles' classic "Michelle," recorded in June 1989.
