Description:
Renaud Capuçon, Artistic Director of the Orchestre de chambre de Lausanne, First EditionIn the fall of 2021, Renaud Capuçon was appointed Artistic Director of the Orchestre de chambre de la chambre de la chambre de Lausanne. His first full-scale recording as conductor (he also plays violin) is dedicated to the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. The concepts of space and time in Arvo Pärt's music are transcendent. What appears relatively simple on the score can be very varied. His music feels merely relaxing, but it has depth and drama. It leads us as a long line from darkness to light. It allows each of us to construct our own little world, looking out over the vast horizon." The works of Arvo Pärt, born in 1935 and now widely known, evoke the mystical resonance of bells and are composed using a method he calls tintinnabuli. They are systematic and intricate. Pelto, who often draws inspiration from the Eastern Orthodox faith, believes they must be done with a sense of purity and innocence. They evolve gently through graded melodies filled with triple harmonies, drawing the listener into a meditative and spiritual experience. The central work on the album, "Tabula Rasa," was originally composed for Gidon Kremer, who described it as a "declaration of silence," writing that it "has a cleansing effect, like a small wave washing away the debris that has accumulated from our consciousness." late 2020 As the shocking year draws to a close, Renaud Capuçon is joined by the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra and pianist Guillaume Bellon for a recording session in Switzerland. He said, "Importantly, the members of the Orchestre de chambre de Lausanne are able to tune into the texture of the music. They are very responsive and the quality of sound they produce is something you can only dream of. When I work with them purely as a conductor, it is incredible how much sound they create without the violins. I am entering a new chapter in my life, and I am delighted to begin that chapter with the players in Lausanne." As he said, the pure and lucid sound of Capuçon's violin, which never loses its transparency, integrated with the orchestra, is a timeless beauty with a strong sense of drama The pure and clear sound of Capuçon's violin and orchestra, which never loses its transparency, speaks to us as a timeless beauty and a profound spiritual message, while emphasizing drama.
