Hailing from Michigan, Billy Strings is a young guitarist who now lives and works in Nashville, the capital of American music.He was taught to play guitar by his father, a bluegrass musician, and was the lead guitarist in a progressive band as a teenager. Since his debut in 2017, he has won Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2020, and was named Best Bluegrass Album at the 2022 and 2023 He was named Artist of the Year at the Americana Music Awards in 2022 and 2023. He has also continued to garner attention by winning the International Bluegrass Music Award for Entertainer of the Year for three consecutive years.It was only last year that he signed with Ripley's Records, which released his long-sought album with his father, "ME/AND/DAD," in 2022, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album. He then released "California Sober," a collaboration with country legend Willie Nelson, which was also nominated for a Grammy. Billy is also known for his energetic performances as a live act, and has in fact released several live albums.He uses acoustic guitars and a variety of effectors to create a superbly crafted performance that Molly Tuttle, a bluegrass musician of the same generation, describes as "unique in its sound. His performances have the power to overwhelm the listener. His latest album, "Live Vol. 1," is packed with his charm as a live performer. Inheriting the tradition and soul of bluegrass.
