A truly fresh arrangement! Romantic songs performed by soprano, cello, double bass, and piano! Soprano Erika Bünsch and piano Bernhard Bünsch's latest album is a collection of songs from the Romantic era. They have been focusing on Lieder since 2011, and in 2019 they will open a studio in Greichen, near Göttingen, in central Germany. They regularly hold salon-style concerts at the studio, where they actively perform not only masterpieces but also unknown works, and have released a CD titled "Handel: 9 German Arias" (HC-22009). This album is a collection of songs from the Romantic period. This time, the songs are sung solo by Erika Bünsch with cello, double bass, and piano arranged versions. Except for Schubert's "On the Stream," all of the songs are arranged by Bernhard Bünsch. He says, "Chamber music for solo instrument and piano generally requires a lot of melody on the piano as well. With this album we have taken a completely new approach to these repertoire by adding another melody instrument to the voice and piano, such as the Lied works of Schubert and Brahms.We believe that the combination of voice, piano, and solo instrumentation is particularly effective and allows the songs to be heard in a richer and more pleasant way" (Erika Bünsch & Bernhard Bünsch) King International
