Including works by Fazil Say! Theo Prass, principal bassoonist of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, performs a valuable repertoire of bassoon music from the Balkan countries! Pianist Oliver Trindle, who has been actively recording unknown chamber music works, will be joined by bassoonist Theo Pras by Balkan composers Bruno Bielinski (Croatia), Ivo Petrič (Slovenia), Constantija Gruzý (Greece), Ivo Petrič (The female composer Konstantia Gruzi, born in Athens in 1962, is a composer of note in Greece who has also been released on ECM. Greek composer of note. Other works by Fazil Sai, a prodigious pianist and composer, will open up a new world for the bassoon. Theo Pras, the performer, won the third prize at the ARD Munich International Music Competition held in 2019 and is currently the principal bassoonist of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra (hr Symphony Orchestra).Performing forgotten works by now-deceased composers is as much a pleasure for me as performing new works. After extensive research of Balkan composers, I discovered and decided to record a number of completely unknown works for bassoon and piano. With this CD I have not only expanded my instrumental repertoire, but I also hope to promote the classical music of the Balkans more widely, which has not been well introduced until now.
