Description:
Another instrument Chopin loved, the stately Chopin by the golden duo of Cello Gastinel & Désert! Anne Gastinel has recorded Chopin. Anne Gastinel recorded Chopin's famous E-flat major Nocturne with her longtime collaborator and teacher, Claire Désert. The CD opens with the cello and piano version of the famous E-flat major Nocturne. Désert's prelude to the sonata was crisp and dignified, full of improvisation and heat. Gastinel's solo, which follows, is understated from start to finish, which in turn accentuates the dramatic nature of the work. The performance is truly that of a great singer, with a free spirit of song, but also with dignity and rigor. <Born in 1971, Anne Gastinel began playing the cello at the age of four, entered the Conservatoire National de Lyon at the age of eleven, and after graduating at the top of her class in 1986, entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. In 2006, she was awarded the Victoire Musique Soloist of the Year Award (Young Talent, and Best Recording before that), and in 2007, she was named the "Best Cello Artist of the Year" by the International Chamber Music Association, For a year, he was specially loaned the Matteo Goffriller used by Pablo Casals. He is currently playing a 1690 Testore and has been a professor at the Conservatoire National de Lyon since 2003. <Claire Désert was born in 1967 and entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris at the age of 14, where she won the unanimous highest prize in the piano section and the highest prize in the chamber music section. She then continued her studies at the Moscow Conservatory. He is currently active as a recitalist and as one of the world's best chamber musicians, performing at music festivals around the world. He has also performed with Gastinel for many years. He is a professor of piano and chamber music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. In 2020, the company was awarded the Prix d'Interpretation of the Académie des Beaux-Arts.
