Beethoven (1770-1827)

Description:

February 2010 Dresden Bombing Memorial Concert Live. The soloists include the much talked about Galancha! Thielemann & Staatskapelle Dresden. Beethoven's "Solemn Mass" Christian Thielemann conducts the Staatskapelle Dresden, which he will assume as chief conductor beginning in the 2012 season, in a live video performance of Beethoven's "Solemn Mass" over two days on February 13 and 14, 2010, The concert took place in the Semperoper on February 13 and 14, 2010. During the final stages of World War II, from February 13 to 15, 1945, Dresden was bombed by the Allied Forces of Great Britain and the United States, destroying most of the city and claiming the lives of 30,000 to 150,000 people, including civilians. After the war, the Staatskapelle Dresden held the annual "Memorial Concert for the Dresden Bombing Victims" on February 13 and 14, the same days that the city suffered the unprecedented war damage known as the "Bombing of Dresden. The Staatskapelle Dresden has held the "Memorial Concert for the Dresden Bombing Victims" every year. In 1994, Berlioz's "Requiem" was performed under the baton of Colin Davis on February 13 and 14, 1994, and the performance is documented in a very moving and moving documentary (PH07014). Against this backdrop, Thielemann's performance of "Missa Solemnis" with the Staatskapelle Dresden, where he will assume the position of chief conductor in the 2012 season, was more than ever a remarkable performance by this conductor, whose recent years have been characterized by his tendency to carry music with an exaggerated stance.Thielemann's relationship with the Staatskapelle Dresden has been marked by the success of his Bruckner Symphony No. 8 (PH10031) at the subscription concert in September 2009, which led directly to his appointment as chief conductor, and the subsequent 2010 Thielemann, who was born in Berlin in 1959, must have had great expectations for this monumental event, but the fact that he was appointed chief conductor ahead of schedule is also unusual. The fact that Thielemann was appointed to the position of chief conductor ahead of schedule is also unusual, and is a clear indication of his high popularity in Germany and the trust he has earned from the orchestra. Finally, among the vocalists in the "Four Brilliant Soloists" (Die Welt), the ever-energetic Elina Galancha adds a touch of brilliance to the performance. King International
