Description:
Formed in 1973 by Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding, Terry Chambers, and Barry Andrews, XTC signed with Virgin Records in 1977 and became popular for their unique pop style in the New Wave movement of the time. In 1979, Dave Gregory joined the band following the departure of Barry Andrews, and in 1982, Terry Chambers left the group, leaving XTC as a three-piece. 1986's "Skylarking," produced by Todd Rundgren, was an international hit. However, the band is now virtually inactive, with only Andy Partridge remaining. Influenced by The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and psychedelic rock, XTC's sound is full of originality and has greatly influenced Japanese musicians.XTC's live archive of their different sound styles is finally being released on CD! However, XTC was asked to tour North America to promote the album "Oranges and Lemons", which was released in February 1989. However, the band refuses to go on a concert tour and decides to perform an unplugged 25-minute show on 20 FM radio stations as an alternative. The band decided to release the album using well-preserved recordings from some of the stations. The setlist will depend on the mood of the day, but will generally consist of songs from the new album "Oranges and Lemons", "Skylarking", "Mummer", and "English Settlement".The band performed unplugged in a relaxed atmosphere, and the band's expressive potential is evident in this great live performance.
