It’s already been 10 years since she moved to the U.S. Now a regular on the blues charts and a fixture at numerous festivals, Belgian-born cool blues guitarist Galia Volt delivers her sixth powerful album! She delivers a diverse array of original songs—ranging from her signature Hill Country blues to deep blues in the style of John Lee Mann, upbeat boogie, and even funky blues-rock numbers—all performed with her bold slide guitar and powerful vocals. Produced by JD Shimo, an indispensable guitarist in Nashville’s blues and roots music scene! Galia Volt hails from Brussels, Belgium. In 2013, she formed Galia & the Naphthalines. Aiming for even greater heights, she went on to form Galia & Voodoo Casino, gaining attention for their sound—dubbed “Voodoo Billy”—which blends R&B and rockabilly. At the same time, she traveled to the United States almost every year to hone her craft, touring Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee to deepen her connections with local musicians. In 2014, she recorded with Tommy Malone and others. Then, in 2016, she began performing with Mamma’s Boys, the band led by New Orleans legend Johnny Mastro. After a series of live performances and songwriting sessions, she finally made her global debut in 2017 with *Red the Demons Out*, released under the name Galia & Mamma’s Boys via RUF. In 2019, she went solo and released *Mississippi Blend!*, featuring numerous guest artists, followed by *One Woman Band* in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, she participated in the Blues Caravan Tour and released the live album *Blues Caravan 2022 (CD+DVD)*, and in 2023, she released *Shout Sister Shout!*, becoming a regular on the blues charts.
