Rising star winner of the German Music Competition 2022! Clarinetist Ryuta Kobayashi! Clarinetist Ryuta Kobayashi was born in Detmold, Germany in 2003 and learned to play the clarinet from his father. After winning numerous prizes at national and international competitions in Germany and abroad, he won several prizes at the German Music Competition in Bonn in 2022. In 2023, at the age of just 19, he was named principal clarinetist of the Kaiserslautern German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra in Saarbrücken, Germany, and is one of the artists to watch. Organist and pianist Julien Emanuel Becker, who won second prize and the audience prize as the youngest competitor in the St. Albans International Organ Competition, accompanies him on the piano.
