Jénisson, France's Clarinetist to Watch Clarinetist Pierre Jénisson, who takes on the masterpieces of Mozart and Weber, was born in 1986 and won the Jacques Lancelot International Clarinet Competition in Tokyo, Japan, in 2014. He studied at the Conservatoire de Marseille and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, among others, and was appointed principal clarinetist of the Orchestre de Bretagne in 2007 and soloist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra at the invitation of Nézet-Séguin in 2010. He is also very busy as a chamber musician and soloist. Following her debut CD "Made in France" (AP.096), this second release features the famous clarinet quintets by Mozart and Weber. Performing with him is Quartet 212, formed by members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.Both Mozart and Weber were great opera composers, and the quartet's performance is filled with the spirit of song that comes from such a foundation. Jennison's beautiful tone sounds like an aria by a great singer, and this is a piece that makes you feel like you are listening to an opera. King International
