Gene Clarke's 1974 solo album "No Other", a founding member of The Byrds, has been reissued by 4AD with previously unreleased material and newly remastered! Gene Clark, a founding member of The Byrds, released a solo album "No Other" in 1974, which is now reissued by 4AD. The album, which featured Jesse Ed Davis, Batch Trucks (Allman Brothers Band), and Chris Hillman (The Byrds, Flying Burrito Brothers), was a sound that incorporated elements of psychedelic rock, folk, country, and even soul. It was warmly received by critics at the time, but failed to sell commercially. However, in 2014, 40 years after its release, the NewYorkTimes wrote: "'No Other' shines in hindsight. The album has helped to reestablish Big Star's "Third/Sister Lovers" and Lou Reed's "Berlin" in the rock repertoire," and it has been reappraised by current artists such as Beach House and Fleet Foxes, who have brought it to the forefront of their attention. The album is now widely recognized as a masterpiece of its time.This reissue was remastered at Abbey Road, and the hardcover-style limited edition 2CD includes separate versions of each song and the 1972 Eagles hit "Train Leaves Here This Morning," written by Gene Clark and Bernie Redon of the Eagles is included.
