Description:

Arnoncourt & Concertgebouw Orchestra's "Missa Solemnis" Arnoncourt conducted the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in April 2012 and Beethoven's "Missa Solemnis" is now available on Blu-ray and DVD. Arnoncourt's "Missa solemnis" was recorded with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe in 1992, and the Concertgebouw Orchestra's "Missa solemnis" is the famous 1978 recording with Bernstein. This is a remarkable concert that takes place after the respective histories of the two orchestras: a prestigious orchestra that has been praised as the best in the world, and a master conductor who is changing from his earlier radical performances to more profound music with broken corners. The singers are also very splendid. Soprano Mariss Petersen, twice voted the best singer of the year by Europe's most prestigious opera magazine, Opanwelt.Elisabet Kuhlmann, one of the most popular sopranos of our time, attracted attention as Smeton in the 2011 Vienna State Opera production of Anna Netrebko's much-talked-about first performance as Anna Bolena. German tenor Werner Gyula. The Grammy Award winner in the Best Opera Recording category, bass Gerald Finley, and a great deal of attention. The opening "Kyrie" is a beautiful, serene, and magnificent prayer, and the "Gloria" is a powerful and uplifting performance typical of Arnoncourt. The violin solo in "Benedictus" was heavenly and beautiful. The final "Agnus Dei" ends movingly with a prayer for peace. Arnoncourt's highly spiritual, original, and dynamic music is a fulfilling performance that once again reminds us of the profound greatness of the work. The Concertgebouw Orchestra will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2013. King International
