This opera was composed in 1780, when Mozart was 24 years old. The opera is so long and complex that it was performed three times in 1781 and several times in the 1800s, and after that it was completely forgotten. This performance by A. Fischer and his spirited singers is clean and noble, and the final ballet, which would normally be cut, is also performed well. Naxos Japan
