Giovanni Antonini, recorder player and leader of Il Giardino armonico, a group of brilliant Italian musicians whose life-like performances at the end of the 20th century sparked a new trend in the interpretation of Baroque music. Since 2013, he has been recording with the Alpha label. Since 2013, he has chosen the Alpha label as his recording partner for a project to record all of Haydn's more than 100 symphonies by 2032, the composer's 300th anniversary, with each new release generating a great deal of interest. He has chosen two orchestras to perform with him, his own group Il Giardino Armonico and the elite Basel Chamber Orchestra, and has also included some of the leading names in the world of Italian classical music.The performances are unparalleled in every volume, full of dramatic ups and downs, and the fresh and thoughtful interpretations of every detail fully convey the best of Haydn's art, which is unexpected. The other Haydn works, which provide the historical background of the period and the formation of Haydn's works, are also excellent performances.
