After a three-year hiatus, ART-SCHOOL returned last summer and released their 10th full-length album this year. After the release of "Just Kids .ep" last year, ART-SCHOOL has regained all the pieces that were left behind during the three years of absence, and has become a more sensitive and powerful band than before the hiatus. In particular, Riki Kinoshita's singing has become more transparent and strong at its core. As Riki Kinoshita comments, the album was produced with the single-minded intention of "making the purest ART-SCHOOL album possible" while carefully cutting out various images. The two songs "Teardrops" and "Heart of Gold," in which guitarist Kenji Todaka sings the main vocal for the first time in 14 years, are catchy songs that develop a new ART-SCHOOL. SCHOOL" are catchy tunes that develop a new ART-SCHOOL style, and the album's colorfulness is heightened by the worldview of the songs created by Riki Kinoshita. The album also features guest musicians: KUBO Kenji of Merenge on synthesizer and UCARY & THE VALENTINE on chorus. About "luminous," I wanted to depict a world where the noise and roar of madness that exists at the same time as transparency are in beautiful harmony with each other, and I wanted listeners to feel that image as well. I also had an image of a world that blends a Greek myth-like story with the cruel reality and emotions of people living on the streets, and colors. Also, like a Wong Kar-wai film I once saw, the pattern of a man and a woman who are forever passing each other and running fast.And also, a look at people who have lost their dreams and their ability to live tomorrow. Many such images and scenes came to mind when I was working on this album, and I carefully cut out the images in my mind. I was determined to make the purest ART-SCHOOL album possible. I would be more than happy if you could pick up and listen to this album.
