The original 1/4-inch master tape of this album was unearthed in the archives of Brian Tatler, one of the band's founders, and the master tape was restored from its deteriorated state to playable quality, restored, digitized, and then remastered by current Diamond Head The master tapes were then restored to playable quality, restored, digitized, and the tracks were remastered by Diamond Head frontman Rasmus Bom Andersen. The result is a pure edition of the original recordings. The cover of the new album features a character called "God of Lightning," which was the idea of Brian Tatler. When Diamond Head released their debut album "LIGHTNING TO THE NATIONS" 40 years ago in 1980, no one could have predicted that this album would have a huge impact on the subsequent flow and sound of heavy metal.Packed with top-notch guitar riffs, the album was a major driving force behind the new NWOBHM movement and had a major influence on the biggest rock band of all time, Metallica. With Metallica, the name Diamond Head became known to a younger generation and gained overwhelming acclaim as an important band in the heavy metal scene. (2/2)
