The Nation magazine music critic and Columbia University graduate school professor David Hadu is the author and lyricist of this unique work, which features music by Theo Bleckman, Dan Teffer, and Alicia Olatuja on lyrics written by David Hadu, who is best known for his work with Linnie Rosnes, David Hadu, a music critic for The Nation magazine and a professor at Columbia Graduate School of Music, wrote the lyrics for this song about an unassuming townhouse at 64 East Seventh Street in the historic East Village section of New York City. Theo Blechman, a longtime New York City vocalist who is also well-known for his work with ECM, wrote the music and sang on the album. Dan Teffer, a pianist who has been in the spotlight for his work with Lee Konitz, his solo work on the Goldberg Variations, and his trio work with Thomas Morgan and Nate Wood, composes and performs on this album. Dan Teffer has composed and performed with a wide variety of music, including jazz, R&B, and gospel music.All are notable members of the group, including Alicia Olatuja, who studied mezzo-soprano singing at the Manhattan School of Music and was a member of the choir for President Barack Obama's second inauguration in 2013.
