Vasily Petrenko and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (RLPO) have been selected as "Special Recording Artists" for Volume 1 "The Rite of Spring" (PONYX4182/ONYX4182) and Volume 2 "The Firebird" (PONYX4175/ONYX4175), and both have received great acclaim around the world. The third and final volume of the Stravinsky Project is the third and final volume of the RLPO's Stravinsky Project. In the third and final volume, "Petrushka" finally appears! In a unique project to combine one of Stravinsky's three major ballets as the main work with another composer's work on the same theme, Petrenko has coupled "The Rite of Spring" with Debussy and Rachmaninoff's "Spring" and "The Firebird" with Rimsky=Korsakov's "The Golden Rooster". Stravinsky project. Petrushka," the story of a clown puppet brought to life, is combined with "The Quirky Shop" (composed by Respighi based on Rossini's material), which depicts moving puppets in a delightful and glamorous puppet world.Look forward to the final Stravinsky volume, which has been acclaimed for Petrenko's solid leadership and sense of balance and the RLPO's high performance skills!
