Over the past few years, the master has been consistently releasing series of two or three tracks at a time, but his new work—his first in two years and a testament to his “eloquence”—is a standalone release for the first time in a while. His undiminished gift for rhetoric is on full display in collaborations with Kent Jones and Problem, but it’s particularly evident in the closing track produced by Bosco—a G-Funk track featuring Prozac (that C-Funk!) , and the closing track produced by Bosco—which blends G-Funk with Mike Marshall’s passionate vocals and Professor Cornel West’s spoken word—show that his collaborations with veterans who approach the music in the classic style are working out great.
