Dramatic "Carmina Burana" performed outdoors in Piazza San Marco in July 2022, conducted by Fabio Luisi In 1803, a manuscript containing a collection of old songs was discovered in the library of the Boyern Monastery in what is now Bavaria, Germany. Carl Orff used these poems to compose a large-scale vocal work of 25 songs in three parts on the themes of "spring," "wine," and "love. This is the "Carmina Burana" that will be released this time. It is a grand and intense spectacular work with lyrics full of free and unrestrained energy by students and monks visiting the monastery, a magnificent orchestra, and a chorus. Recorded here is an outdoor performance in St. Mark's Square in Venice in July 2022, performed by Fabio Luisi from Genoa, Italy, who was principal conductor of the NHK Symphony Orchestra in September 2022. The performance by chorus and orchestra, which had been particularly restricted in the Corona Disaster, was performed in a piazza (=square), an important place for Italians, and the citizens were so excited that the performance was broadcast live in Italy.The soloists include Regula Muehlemann, a soprano who is now a sought-after Mozart singer in Europe, Michael Schade, a master lyric tenor, and Markus Werba, a world-class baritone from Austria, as well as the Orchestra & Chorus of the Teatro La Fenice and finally the Venetian Children's Chorus. The Venetian Children's Chorus also made an appearance to make this historic performance a success. King International
