Kenji Miura's long-awaited second album is an all-German program! A letter of sound from Germany, the hometown he has chosen. Heimat means "hometown" in German. Kenji Miura, who was born in Japan and has lived in four countries (the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and Germany), delves into the question of "what is Heimat" through music. Miura says that living in Germany and then becoming a father changed his awareness of Germany and led to a rediscovery of his love for German music. The songs on the album are by German-born composers that Miura chose to express the process of confronting "Heimat. The main pieces are Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 23 "Passions," Schumann's "Children's Scenes," and Brahms' "Seven Fantasias. The recording was made at the famous Teldex Studio in Berlin. The bonus tracks include three masterpieces from the German Romantic period: Brahms' "Lullabies" and "Waltzes," and Schumann's "Romances. These three pieces are not included on the import version, but only on the domestic and digitally distributed versions.The domestic version is released as a SACD hybrid disc, ahead of the imported version. The booklet includes comments written by Kenji Miura.
