The final work in the series, part 5, which is a collection of studio works in chronological order. Magical Mystery Tour" is completed! Also includes a Xmas song for fan clubs. The 11th volume of the popular Eternal Grooves collection of Beatles session recordings is the final chapter of the "Magical Mystery Tour" sessions. While the previous album (EGDR-0028) recorded up to the trial and error of "Fool on the Hill" on September 26, this album starts from the dubbing process of "I Am the Walrus" the day after that. Strings from George Martin's score are dubbed in and the cello echoes accentuate the unsettling atmosphere of "I Am the Walrus." Take 25 features the Mike Sam's Singers on "Ho-Ho-Ho! Hee-hee-hee! Ha ha ha!" and other chorus dubs, including the original source for the radio drama of Shakespeare's "The Tragedy of King Lear," which would be mixed into the seventh track to great effect. Even though it was John's idea, I marvel at the surprising softness of producer George Martin who allowed this to happen. Listening to this song, I have a feeling that the future will be just as John said: "This song will still be good 100 years from now. The first instrumental number, "Flying," is the complete version of the 9 minutes and 36 seconds of the song that was described in the book "The Beatles: The Complete Recording Sessions" by Mark Lewison (Shinko Music, Inc.). Paul's new song "Hello Goodbye," which finally appeared on October 2, was conceived as a single from the beginning. On October 2, "Fool on the Hill" is completed with flute dubbing. The production includes a long version of "Love is Everything" and a rare version of "Lucy in the Sky" with vocals by a character from the cartoon.After finishing the "Magical Mystery Tour," the band recorded a new song for their fan club on November 28. It was "Christmastime Is Here Again," a song that has long been considered by fans to be a legendary song. Here we hear the complete version of the song, which lasts 5 minutes and 46 seconds, with John's strange voice and the members' exaggerated chorus. The year of change led by the Beatles, 1967, the miraculous rock year came to an end, and this is the final album in the session series in which their studio work can be heard by ear. Eleven albums in all. I feel like going back to the beginning and listening to the legendary session on February 11, 1963 (EGDR-0018), when they completed their debut album in one day.
