The complete works are recorded in full by Latry, who approaches the true meaning of the music in a performance with voices in its original context. Although he has long been in the limelight for his unique solo works for clavecin (harpsichord), his main occupation was as an organist. In 17th-century France, prayers were chanted in Gregorian chant at services, and the organist's voice was often accompanied by the organist's own voice as the service progressed.
