The only mysterious side project by the members of Detroit electro legend Drexia is reissued with new artwork for the first time since its original release. Drexia, a Detroit electro legend, has been gaining momentum for reevaluation since the late 2000s, especially in Europe. James' side project, Shifted Faces, was released shortly after the sudden death of James Stinson, a member of Drexia. This is their only album. Song titles such as "Solar Wind" and "The Comet Bopp" suggest a link to "Grava 4," the last album under Drexia's name, in which the band ventured out of the deep sea and found a new way of life beyond the universe. Mixing techno, acid, and electro beats and sounds with a cosmic mood directly descended from Sun Ra, they created a unique Afro-futuristic sound world that is danceable and edgy at the same time. This is the last in a series of Drexia retrospectives by the prestigious Berlin label Tresor, which has been continuing since 2022 in memory of James' death.A mysterious piece that has been sleeping in the deepest part of the Detroit scene is reissued with updated artwork for the first time since its original release in 2002.
