This album, structured around the themes of “Anticipation, Hope, and Salvation,” features two distinct instruments: the Bach Organ and the Sauer Organ at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig. The album’s title derives from the urgent plea in Loipke’s *Psalm 94*: “O Lord, God of vengeance, appear!” In Bach’s *Schübler Chorales*, the faith that eagerly awaits the Lord’s coming is expressed, while the arrangement from the *St. Matthew Passion* depicts the anxiety and awakening in the face of the Passion; in contrast, Tilo Medek’s *Broken Wings* portrays a “mechanical angel” falling after losing its life. This program, with its clear narrative structure, unites works from the Baroque, Romantic, and 20th-century periods into a single spiritual current. Born in Hanover in 2005, Julian Emanuel Becker became the youngest winner in history at the 2023 St. Albans International Organ Competition, and the following year, in 2024, he won first prize in the organ category at the Leipzig International J.S. Bach Competition in the organ category—despite being the youngest participant. In 2025, he became the recipient of the German Music Competition Prize, an honor that has been awarded only three times in the organ category since 2001, cementing his status as a promising young artist.
