Three French Trios by Trio CarénineThree piano trios by French composers. The program includes works by Fauré, Ravel, who was also a student of Fauré, and Tailleferre, who studied with Ravel. Fauré's work was completed in 1923, late in his life; Ravel's work was completed around 1914; and Tailleferre's work, in four movements, was written in 1917, but he had been away from it since the first part, not completing it until 1978. Although all were composed in the 20th century, each of the three works has its own world. Trio Carrenine's dashing and refreshing performance allows the audience to enjoy the different tastes of the three works. Trio Carrenine is a piano trio formed in 2009. The name comes from Tolstoy's novel "Anna Karenina. They studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with the Ysaÿe String Quartet and took master classes with Menahem Pressler and Bayerle. She was awarded the Special Prize/Pro Musictis Society Prize at the 5th Haydn Chamber Music Competition and won the highest prize (2nd prize) at the Munich International Competition in 2013.
