Soprano Rachel Willis-Sorensen, acclaimed for her "luminous yet lyrical, sweet voice," makes her solo debut album! Rachel Willis-Sorensen is an American soprano born in 1984. She studied voice at Brigham Young University and studied at the Houston Grand Opera Studio and with Drora Zajic. In 2014, she won the first prize in Domingo's Operalia Competition. With a wide repertoire ranging from Mozart to Wagner, she is a regular at opera houses in Europe and the U.S. In September 2019, she will make her Japan debut singing Marguerite in Gounod's "Faust" for the Royal Opera in Japan, understudying Sonya Yoncheva. She has been described as having a "luscious voice, both brilliant and lyrical at the same time," and has received such compliments as "Her vocal color has the purity of a silvery moon. Her voice is passionate and deep, sensual and creamy, agile and softly gorgeous, harmoniously blending its brilliance.
