New Order is one of the most important groups representing the British music scene in the 1980s. To coincide with the release of the definitive edition of their second album "POWER CORRUPTION & LIES," in which they presented a new aesthetic to the scene, a 12-inch analog single released on FACTORY RECORDS between 1983 and 1984 is also available! This is "MURDER", released in May 1984, which was only released in Belgium at that time on FACTORY BENELUX! ◆New Order, one of the most important groups representing the British music scene in the 80's.The band introduced the sound of electro dance-pop and presented their "new aesthetic" to the scene with their beautiful, flowing synthesizer-centered sound, and released "POWER CORRUPTION & LIES" in 1983. In conjunction with the release of the "DEFINITIVE EDITION," four 12-inch analog releases from FACTORY RECORDS between 1983 and 1984 will be reissued! The four titles released this time are all songs that were not included on the albums, but are very popular. All of them are 180 gram weight analog releases with the latest remastered sound sources. MURDER In May 1984, "Murder" was released as a single only in Belgium. Recorded during the sessions for the "Power Corruption & Lies" album, the song is an instrumental that samples lines from the films "2001: A Space Odyssey" and "Caligula".Like the previous single "Thieves Like Us," the artwork by Peter Saville, based on a painting by Giorgio de Chirico and featuring the board of a 19th century English board game, is also excellent. An instrumental version of "Thieves Like Us" is included on the coupling. In addition to the remastered sound recording, the album is on heavyweight vinyl. (From the manufacturer's information)
