New Order is one of the most important groups representing the British music scene in the 1980s. To coincide with the release of the definitive edition of their third album "Low-Life," which further clarified their essence as New Order, a 12-inch analog single released on FACTORY RECORDS between 1985 and 1985 is also available! This is "SUB-CULTURE", released in October 1985 as the second single from the album "LOW-LIFE"! It is packaged in a jet-black sleeve with an updated design using the label surface of the time! New Order, one of the most important groups representing the British music scene in the 80's, completely broke free from the spell of Joy Division with "POWER, CORRUPTION & LIES" released in 1983, and presented their own new aesthetic. In conjunction with the release of the definitive edition of their 1985 album "LOW-LIFE", which completed the musical transition from Joy Division to New Order, the three 12" analog singles they released on FACTORY RECORDS between 1985 and 1986 will be reissued! FACTORY RECORDS between 1985 and 1986. SUB-CULTURE Following "The Perfect Kiss", this single was released in October 1985 as the second single from the album "Low-Life". Note that "The Perfect Kiss" and this "Sub-Culture" were the only two songs cut as singles from the album "Low-Life". Peter Saville commented on the single, which was an update of the original black sleeve layout in which only the label side of the actual single was visible. The vinyl label-only design was due to scheduling restrictions back in 1985, and there has been no precedent for a new jacket design since then, including for reissues.
