The 22nd SACD hybrid version of the latest reissue project of ETERNA's original analog tapes in Japan, "Wozzeck," recorded live on April 9, 1973, is now in high sound quality, one of Kegel's most famous operas. Wozzeck" was written by Kegel himself in 1914, and after a blank period of several years, composition resumed in 1917 and was finally completed in 1922. This year (2022) is exactly 100 years since its completion. The first performance of the "Three Septas" was given by Scherchen in 1924 (Kegel's performance is included in the margins of "Moses and Aron" (0302846BC), which is being released simultaneously), and the entire work was performed on stage by E. Kleiber in 1925. It is well known as a very difficult piece to perform, and the quality of the performance is also important. This recording is the result of the entire cast, including Kegel and the Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, performing with all their might. It is amazing that this difficult piece, which was composed with meticulous calculation, was recorded live at the time, but it is also amazing that it was performed with such a high degree of perfection and with such amazing concentration that it is not only recorded, but is also recorded in the history of recordings as one of the best performances of this piece among many recordings of this piece.
