He is well known for his early fascination with serialism and for works like *Cantus Arcticus* that make use of tape recordings, while his mystical compositions—such as the “Angel” series that brought him fame—remain as popular as those of Arvo Pärt. This album allows you to enjoy the full range of his diverse body of work. Furthermore, “Apotheosis” (Track 9) has suddenly garnered significant attention after being used by renowned Finnish filmmaker Aki Kaurismäki as part of the soundtrack for his film *Le Havre*. Although originally the final movement of his Symphony No. 6, “Vincenziana,” it is a profound piece that sounds as if it were written specifically for film music, and it is a thought-provoking work that evokes a mysterious sense of emotion.
