Italian saxophonist recreates the golden age of the 1920s! The Golden Age Project" is dedicated to Rudy Vidoff, who was active in the United States at the dawn of jazz. The saxophonist Nick Russoniello, the protagonist of this recording, has arranged the songs for saxophone and strings to evoke the sounds of dance orchestras, jazz clubs, and the rich string sections of the time. Rusoniello performs with a string quartet employing 1920s gut strings, recreating the portamento, flexibility, and vivid vibrato popularized by violin virtuoso Fritz Kreisler (incidentally, Rudi Wiedoff was known as "Kreisler the Saxophonist")!
