Description:

<<The first version of the masterpiece "Four On Six "Jingles", "So What", "Opus De Funk" and many other noteworthy songs... Complements Episode Zero of the shining legend of jazz history! A treasured collection of previously unreleased Wes Montgomery recordings! Resonance Records, the company that has been delighting fans with a succession of previously unreleased Wes Montgomery recordings, is at it again. Carol DeCamp, who is known for her arrangements for Stan Kenton's orchestra and others, has brought her treasured recordings to the light of day! There are four types of compositions: (1) piano quartet, (2) organ trio, (3) sextet with horns, and (4) drumless piano trio (known as Nat King Cole's arrangement). The members are all "estimated" but include Melvin Rhein (org), a close friend; John Bunch (p), known for his work with Woody Herman's orchestra; Carl Perkins (p), who played swingy on Jim Hall's debut album; and David Baker (tb) and David Young (ts), who played on George Russell's Jazz In The Space Age (1960), among others. David Baker (tb) and David Young (ts), who played on George Russell's "Jazz In The Space Age" (1960), among others. The relatively mysterious period between his departure from Lionel Hampton's band (1950) and his major debut with Riverside (1959) has been the subject of many of Resonance Records' previous releases, including "Echoes Of Indiana Avenue," "In The Beginning," "One Night At A Time," and "The Riverside Show," as well as "The Riverside Show" (1959) and "The Riverside Show" (1959). Beginning", "One Night In Indy", and now "Back On Indiana Avenue". This is a must-buy for fans to complement the great musician's Episode Zero.
