Description:
Asfalt, a pop rock band formed in 1980 by keyboardist and songwriter Tor Salomonsen in Stavanger, a port city on Norway's North Sea coast. Using lyrics in the local dialect, they were part of the Stavanger Wave within the early 1980s Norwegian rock scene, alongside groups like Stavanger Ensemble and The Mods. The band released two albums on the MAI label, but MAI went bankrupt in 1983. At the same time, original vocalist Magne Hoyland left, and Mia Gundersen joined as his replacement. This album, their third, was self-produced in 1983 with the new vocalist. It features a collection of highly catchy songs throughout, including fast-paced numbers with a distinctly 80s pop-rock sound and new wave-inspired tunes making full use of synthesizers. Although this album was released in 1984, the band disbanded before its release, making it their final album.
