This is a deluxe 3-CD edition containing unreleased demos and live recordings! David Byrne, a genius who raced to the forefront of the era in the 1980s and continues to present the art of music to the world through various mediums such as musicals and films. Talking Heads is the New York-based intellectual band that made a powerful impact from the late 1970s through the 1980s, with Byrne at its center. As they mark their 50th anniversary in 2025, the band is set to release a collection of extremely rare recordings to the world. This release offers a glimpse into the early days of Talking Heads—a band whose original trio of David Byrne, Chris Franz, and Tina Weymouth rapidly evolving their sound. This release is available in two formats: a 3-CD edition and a 2-LP set featuring a vinyl LP paired with a 7-inch single. This compilation is based on the 11-track release originally issued as a Record Store Day Black Friday exclusive in November 2025. In addition to the 11 tracks included on the RSD-exclusive vinyl, it features two additional tracks from 1974 recordings by The Artistics, a band formed by David Byrne and Chris Franz. Furthermore, the 3-CD edition includes 15 previously unreleased demo tracks recorded at CBS Studios in September 1975, as well as 17 previously unreleased live recordings capturing the band’s first two years in New York.
