Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Ondara's third studio album is now available. The Spanish Villager, the title of the album, is an enigmatic character with a powerful message that became the subject of a short story Ondara wrote, a graphic novel, and now a new album. The album was produced by Ondara and Mike Viola (Jenny Lewis, Dan Wilson) and features contributions from Taylor Goldsmith and Griffin Goldsmith of Dawes, Sebastian Steinberg, Tim Kuhland Jeremy Stacey. Ondara had this to say about this Spanish Villager character: "He was my darkest period of formation. He was formed and came to life at a time when I was at my darkest, and he carried in his heart all of the insecurities I had about my journey and this new world I had moved into. Further describing the album, Ondara says'I always feel like I'm walking in the middle of the night with the darkness as my guide, letting my muse's subconscious instincts guide me. That is how this project has progressed, step by step. Taken together, the whole project is an epic, a subconscious exploration of my inner and outer worlds.""Spanish Villager No:3" will be followed by a second album, "Folk N' Roll Vol 1: Tales of Isolation" in 2020 and 2019's debut album, Tales of America, which has been widely acclaimed since its release and was nominated for Best Americana Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards, and Ondara was also nominated for Best Emerging Act at the 2019 Americana Awards.
