Rupert Hine

A musician and songwriter since the 1960s, working as a solo artist and in bands such as Jonesy, Kevin Ayers, Anthony Phillips, and Camel in the 1970s, and Howard Jones, The Fix, The Thompson Twins, Bob Geldof, Tina Turner, Stevie Nicks, and Rush in the 1980s, Rupert Hine is one of the UK's most renowned multi-instrumentalists and producers, having worked with many of the world's greatest artists. Rupert Hine is one of the UK's leading multi-musicians, and has worked with Stevie Nicks, Rush, and many others, and has made a name for himself as a producer. Rupert's trilogy of elepop albums, "Immunity," "Waving Not Drowning," and "The Wildest Wish to Fly," released under his solo name between 1981 and 1983, have all been remastered by Stephen W. Taylor, engineer and co-producer at the time, and are now available for purchase on the label. Esoteric Recordings presents a 3-CD boxed collection of "Immunity," "Waving Not Drowning," and "The Wildest Wish to Fly," all remastered and packaged with bonus tracks by the engineer/co-producer at the time, Steven W. Taylor. The albums feature guest appearances by Phil Collins and Marianne Faithfull, and are full of heavy beats and deep soundscapes. The group's 1981 masterpiece "Immunity" has a unique atmosphere with its meticulously calculated sound; "Waving Not Drowning (Drifting)," a synth-pop song featuring Phil Collins on the marimba, was released in 1982. Waving Not Drowning" (1982), which includes "Innocents In Paradise," a synth-pop song featuring Phil Collins' marimba, and "The Wildest Wish" (1983), which features Robert Palmer on lead vocals on two songs. To Fly" in 1983, which featured Robert Palmer on lead vocals on two songs. Rupert Hein passed away in June 2020.
