Jimi Hendrix—the darling of the rock scene who shot to the top with his intense personality and unparalleled guitar technique, exerting a tremendous influence on countless guitarists, yet whose career was cut short after just four years. Now, a long-awaited release features a rare archive recording of one of his legendary performances that has long been the talk of fans!
Following the success of his 1968 European tour, he continued touring Europe in 1969. A 37-show North American tour was also added, putting the band under grueling conditions. Amid this, the concert held on May 24 of that year in San Diego, California, was recorded and broadcast as part of a program on a local radio station. This live album features the audio used for that broadcast and captures the entire concert, including cover songs, medleys, and encores.
As soon as the performance begins, the band delivers a stunning performance that makes a powerful impact on the audience. Given that the band disbanded after this tour, this is a magnificent live album capturing their final moments of brilliance! Two bonus tracks featuring the same lineup performing at a concert in Sweden have been added.
