Sting made his major-label debut with The Police, a band known for its unique and inimitable sound. After achieving worldwide success during his seven years with the band, he launched his solo career in 1985. He garnered immense support by showcasing an even broader musical range than he had with The Police, establishing himself as a rock artist of significant stature. Now, this rare live archive of Sting’s performances is being released on CD!
Sting’s album *The Dream of the Blue Turtles*, which featured jazz musicians and introduced a new sound concept, achieved worldwide success that surpassed even that of The Police. Building on this success, his 1987 release *...Nothing Like the Sun* surpassed the sales of its predecessor. Prior to the release of his 1991 hit album *The Soul Cages*, Sting embarked on a tour of North and South America. During that tour, his October 10, 1990, concert in Uruguay was recorded and broadcast for a radio program in South America. This live album features the audio used during that broadcast, and the setlist captures the full scope of the concert, including Police songs and the encore.
It faithfully and dynamically recreates the sound of Sting’s studio albums, capturing the live performance that Sting envisioned!
