Description:

The CD series "Contemporary Japanese Composers" has been produced and sold since 1992 with the aim of systematically and continuously recording the results of the creative activities of Japanese composers. The CD series "Contemporary Japanese Composers" has been produced and marketed since 1992 with the aim of systematically and sustainably doing this. The 57th collection is a collection of works by Maikei Takano, a composer whose music is "neither classical music nor avant-garde, but music that crosses the boundaries of various genres to form a new world. Takano describes his musical creation as follows: "First of all, the basic principle of my compositional philosophy is to create music that is not avant-garde. First of all, the basis of my compositional philosophy lies in my study with my teacher Ligeti. It is to compose my own original works based on solid compositional techniques (Handwerk), and to constantly enrich and expand my own sound world with an inquiring mind and interest in various fields of music and art that transcend genres. Tokyo is a city with a diverse mix of international music of various genres. These music are absorbed, filtered, and interconnected within me, and eventually emerge as a world of "sound" of their own.It is not classical music, nor avant-garde, but music in which various genres of music cross boundaries to form one new world. In recent years, I have also been working on many musical works using not only acoustic instruments but also electronics/DTM such as Cubase and acoustic programming languages such as SuperCollider. With the current global corona disaster, digitalization is becoming more widespread and inevitable, and I believe that digital and programming concepts will be the foundation for the next generation. However, it will always be the case that people will experience a wide range of emotions in their lifetimes: love, hate, sadness, healing, loneliness, and so on. Along with our awareness for future generations, we aim to create music that expresses the universal emotions that human beings continue to carry with them." Mai Sage [Mari Takano] graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music with a degree in composition, and studied composition under Professor Brian Farnihau at the Graduate School of the National Freiburg University of Music, and under Professor György Ligeti at the Graduate School of Music in Hamburg, where she received her master's degree. He has received numerous awards including the Japan Music Competition, the Irino Prize, and the Stuttgart State Composition Prize.Through his encounter with his teacher Ligeti, he developed and established a style with his own originality. He has received commissions from the State Cultural Office of Hamburg, the U.S. Embassy in Japan, the Kanagawa Cultural Foundation, and others, and his works have been performed at the Music from Japan Festival and other festivals in Japan and abroad. She was a visiting composer at Northwestern University (U.S.A.) as a special dispatch trainee from the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and released her first collection "Women's Paradise" in 2002 and her second collection "LigAlien" in January, 2012 from BIS, Sweden. The latter was selected as one of the five best CDs of the year by the American CD magazine Fanfare, and the "Flute concerto" from the same CD was broadcast on BBC Radio3 in 2018. He has been invited to give special lectures at Roosevelt University, New York University, University of Dusseldorf, and University of Mannheim. Formerly Associate Professor at Ferris University. Currently he is a lecturer at Toho Gakuen College of Art and Design and Bunkyo University. Fontec
