The recordings by legendary engineer Roy Dunant were mastered from the original tapes by Bernie Grundman, who has spent his career at Contemporary and looks up to Dunant as his mentor, and the latest remastered sound sources were used in 2022. Coleman's debut album, recorded in 1958, is a historic record that overturned the conventional wisdom of jazz, and the free jazz spirit that aimed for unlimited freedom was realized in bold expression, making the world aware of the emergence of a revolutionary in jazz.
