Inspired by the Aboriginal "map by song", this is a picture scroll of contemporary Polish music! Shigehiko Kawaguchi, one of Japan's leading fortepiano players, joins the project! Polish composer and pianist Anjay Karawov is an up-and-coming musician who studied at the Chopin University of Music, where he now teaches, and has participated in the London Philharmonic Composers Program in 2018/2019, and his works have been performed around the world. He is also highly acclaimed for his creative fusion of classical, electronic music, and visual arts. This album contains nine pieces that depict natural phenomena, spaces, and emotions through sound. Each piece responds to each other as a "songline" and forms an abstract map. The title "Songlines" is derived from the mythological "map by song" of the Aboriginal people of Australia, and the pieces depict natural and emotional landscapes in a variety of compositions, including a clarinet quartet, string duo, accordion solo, and vocal pieces with electronic sounds. Of particular note is "Interweaving," in which Shigehiko Kawaguchi, one of Japan's leading fortepiano players, participates. As the title implies, "intricately interweaving," the various sounds woven by the two instruments weave together to form the entire work.Inspired by the nature of Iceland, the music evokes the clean air and breath of the earth, depicting a "path of sound" where people and nature quietly resonate.
